Organisers of the rally have now called on US and European countries to sanction @hkpoliceforce , such as stop issuing visas, over allegations of police brutality. They said that frontline protesters have sacrificed a lot, and peaceful protesters should take one step further.

@hkpoliceforce While the rally has been peaceful so far, @hkpoliceforce have been searching protesters & journalists. Police snatched the phone of a @StandNewsHK reporter as he was filming, breaking its screen. His ID card was also shown in front of a camera (again).

Police claimed they interrupted because "organisers could not maintain order in the rally." But worth noting that the protest was largely peaceful before police intervened.

@hkpoliceforce @StandNewsHK On Facebook, "Asia's Finest" @hkpoliceforce said the rally had to be ended because "a large group of rioters" committed "acts of arson, road blockage and even brutal attacks" on its officers. Riot police are now stationed in Central, Admiralty, and Causeway Bay.

It denounced some protesters for "brutally" attacking police officers who were calling on organisers to terminate the rally. Local media showed the officers suffering injuries.
