Mr Bowen has stated several times his renewables plan will cost $121 billion several times, on ABC Insiders and again on 730 Report. So what’s included, and what’s not, in the $121 billion? 1/

Australia surrendered its mineral wealth at 2% royalties while Norway collected 76% on oil and gas. The result? A $1.8 trillion Norwegian wealth fund and a captured Australian media that never asks why. New article: the greatest rip-off in history. https://t.co/N8XN1ENVst

Note that $9/month is about 30c per day for the privilege of being connected to the electricity system. With more people opting out financially (but still connected physically) there are few people paying for a growing system.

Nope. Prices are lower because of no price spikes. If you can tie that to more wind and solar, good luck.

Always best to look into these claims before outright believing them. AEMO's QED for Q3-2025 does explicitly make the claim that increased wind and solar actively reduced wholesale prices, however as usual there is a bit more to the story. It appears the reduction in quarterly

I put this chart together from ACCC and AER data. Pretty crude, but tells a story on QLD LNG exports at a basic level. When the sale price is high the costs are no higher, so there is opportunity for royalties. When the sale price is low the costs still continue, so less

As usual there is more to the story. PRRT is 40% of profit after costs and deductions are taken off. Profits are also based on commodity prices. If prices are low and costs are high, PRRT misses out. That's all it is. The INPEX project paid $340m in company tax in 2023-24,

Inpex, one of 🇦🇺 biggest gas companies, is a case study in the great gas scam. They haven’t paid a cent of PRRT for their offshore LNG exports, essentially getting their gas for free, don’t pay much corporate tax and now we learn have been massively under-reporting their

Nope. This is an example of malinformation. Japan buys Australian gas on long-term contracts linked to oil prices at a deliberate surplus. When they don’t consume the gas themselves they offload surplus gas to neighbouring countries who buy on the spot market. These
