Hold on friends! @CMZParker5 is amending the legislation he voted on less than 1 hour ago! #WhenYouPassLegislationSoQuicklyYouAmendIt1HourLater So, some of you just got TOPA rights again! If you can (somehow) prove your landlord owns 2 or more properties or is a corp. (I think!)

This has never had a hearing. Her argument invokes a mythical rowhouse where a low-income senior created a pop-up, adding units, and does not want to follow current DC laws to sell.

If the @councilofdc passes the RENTAL Act today, it will be the single largest rollback of tenants’ rights, perhaps ever. As residents are living in fear of being harassed and deported, the Council should be protecting low and no-income tenants, not making it easier to evict them
