Apartheid 101

I for one recall getting almost no lessons on basic comparative politics in high school, and that was in a college town. One major problem with American politics is how uneducated Americans are about how politics actually works around the world. End of rant!

The most obvious question any such documentary needs to answer is, if the EC is so awesome, then why is the US the ONLY COUNTRY IN THE WORLD to use it? The fact that the makers didn't even feel they needed to answer this question is a product of poor civics teaching in the US.

Second, I love how, over a course of almost 75+ minutes of pundits defending the Electoral College (including Steve Forbes), there was approximately 5 seconds (literally!) devoted to a discussion of how other countries elect their president.

Short rant: I had the displeasure of watching this 'documentary' on an American Airlines flight on Friday. First, why is AA showing trash like this when there are plenty of more interesting and factually accurate documentaries they could offer?
