Reading some brain teasers from a 1955 book (reprinted, not in the original book). “What number, when subtracted from six and a half of the number itself, leaves half of the number halved?” Answer given: 8. Anyone understand this? Because I don’t. 🤨

I am looking for BIPOC-led community organizations in Indiana that could use some financial support. Googling has thus far turned up only a few options. Anyone out there happen to know of folks doing good work?

Ma’Khia Bryant. When I #SayHerName, I say part of my own. But she was killed at 15 (or 16, I’ve seen both) and I was not. And the chances that I would be were so much smaller than for her, because she was Black and I am not. We have so, so much work still to do.

It doesn’t fix the problems. But it is some small measure of justice.

An update from me: as part of layoffs across our parent company, I was let go from Heinemann yesterday. It’s hard to leave a great place like this, and the dedicated, thoughtful, fun folks I’ve gotten to know and work with.
