Thanks to the UK for an excellent Berlin Process Foreign Ministers’ meeting in Belfast today. Discussing the importance of reconciliation, we listened to the voices and experiences from Northern Ireland and how normalisation takes patience, persistence and building trust.

Yesterday in Brussels, I hosted Chief Negotiators of Kosovo & Serbia for bilateral and trilateral talks on implementing the Ohrid Agreement & addressing Missing Persons. Regrettably, the inaugural Joint Commission session didn’t take place. Ready to continue once the Parties are.

After my visit to Pristina in early August, I was in Belgrade today for preparatory talks ahead of the next Dialogue meetings. I listened carefully to my interlocutors and stressed the importance of normalisation for the sake of people on the ground.

Productive visit to Kosovo today. In all my meetings, I emphasized the urgent need to implement the Ohrid Agreement, now more than ever. The path to 🇪🇺 integration runs through meaningful progress in the Dialogue. Time to move forward.

Spoke to @predsednikrs in the margins of @GLOBSEC. Discussed a number of concrete steps needed to advance normalisation of relations with Kosovo.

Had a full-day working visit to 🇸🇮 for in-depth talks with Foreign Minister @tfajon and officials dealing with the Western Balkans. Slovenia’s support and active role in the region remains vital for the Dialogue and regional stability 🤝🇪🇺

Hosted a long meeting of Chief Negotiators of Kosovo and Serbia in Brussels. Spoke about advancing the normalisation of their relations in preparation of a high-level Dialogue meeting, pending implementation obligations, and current issues. Agreed to continue the discussion soon.

Continued bilateral meetings today with Serbian Chief negotiator @PetkovicPetar in preparation of a trilateral one. We discussed a number of issues affecting normalisation of relations with Kosovo.

Hosted the Kosovo Chief Negotiator @BislimiBesnik for a meeting in preparation of a trilateral Dialogue meeting in Brussels today. Discussed a wide range of issues important for the normalisation of relations with Serbia. Plan to host a trilateral meeting soon.

I encourage all parties in Kosovo to break the political stalemate and swiftly form a government. Leaders need to set aside divisions and prioritise the future of Kosovo. My press conference in Pristina ↓

In Belgrade, I talked to engaged members of youth organisations and civil society. I heard their call and their aspirations — for fairness, for accountability. So that Serbia can fulfil its full potential. Their energy is needed to find a way forward.

My message to the authorities in Belgrade is clear. I want to see Serbia advancing towards the EU. For that, political leaders must deliver the necessary reforms and clarify the strategic direction. This is best done by restoring trust and staying true to democratic principles.

Back in the Western Balkans. I will be visiting Serbia, Kosovo and North Macedonia in the next two days and engage with governments and the civil society on their EU path. The Belgrade-Pristina Dialogue is a must in moving forward. Now is the time to re-engage.

I continued my working visit in Belgrade by meeting with Foreign Minister @markodjuric, Minister for European Integration @nstarovic and Chief Negotiator @PetkovicPetar. Had good discussions on our latest efforts and areas for progress in the Dialogue.

Good to be back in Kosovo for a quick working visit and discussion with Chief Negotiator @BislimiBesnik on our ongoing efforts in the Dialogue. Now off to Belgrade to meet with Chief Negotiator @PetkovicPetar.

Interesting meeting with @KatBomberger at @TheICMP in The Hague today. Got a very good insight in their work on state-of-the-art DNA analysis crucial to resolving issues related to Missing Persons’ cases.
