.@EEC_WA has made the decision to step away from this platform. While we’ve valued the opportunity to connect here, we continue to have concerns about equity and accessibility. These concerns conflict with our mission to create inclusive and fair spaces for all. (1/2)

Enrollment declines are not the only source of K12 district budget challenges. State legislators need to provide ample and equitable funding, especially for school districts with the greatest need @UW @wssda @waOSPI @EEC_WA @wasa_oly @SeattleEdAssoc

Every $10 donation will buy one student a backpack filled with school supplies. Can you donate $10 to provide backpacks to distribute to students in Grant, Pierce, Spokane, Snohomish, Stevens, Kitsap, Skagit, and Whatcom counties?

Our community has stepped up to fill this gap, but the 146 requests we received means 8,400 backpacks are needed! With your help, we can raise the money needed to provide each and every student with the supplies they deserve to thrive!

In 13 hours, we got 146 requests, with some people offering to take 200 backpacks because the need in their school is so high due to budget cuts, low investment in school supplies, & school board decisions not to pay for a student's constitutional right to materials &supplies.

Last week, we put out a call for free backpacks with school supplies. We had about 2,000 backpacks to giveaway and thought we would be giving out backpacks forever.

Endres: Whether they're voting or advisory members, those most affected by board decisions should have a voice. 5 ways districts can make that happen.
