Grab a jacket heading out the door this morning; chilly northwest wind blows into the Mid-South today with highs in the lower to middle 50s. The wind keeps a persistent nip in the air through the day.

Sustained winds have been over 20 mph in Memphis since about 10 PM and wind gusts have been over 30 mph over the past 80+ minutes. I think the wind advisory is verifying.... Not a fun night to be a FedEx pilot landing at Memphis International Airport! #TNwx

North of I-40 is quite a bit drier than south of I-40. While there have been a couple of t'storms around, the ability to see/experience severe weather around the Mid-South is very low. Periods of moderate-to-heavy rain and some 40+ mph winds gusts will be possible tonight, though
