Sure, anyone could *administer* anaesthesia. Doing it safely & being prepared for all the sudden curve balls is quite another thing. Anaesthetists are amongst the most highly skilled, intelligent & cool under fire doctors you'll find in a hospital. There is no safe substitute
@DrHuw The moment someone thinks you need to go to Med school to administer anaesthesia in the face of all the contrary evidence is the moment that it is evident their critical-thinking skills and self awareness are compromised. You’re still muddled about AP/ anaesthetist though

The last resident doctor strike had more doctors striking than July 2023. You wouldn’t know it from the government’s spin and the media’s headlines. Doctors are standing together for full pay restoration and a safe NHS. The government must stop the rhetoric and move on pay.

At today's RDC meeting, we’ve voted to go ahead with strike action. Last week when we met @wesstreeting we were open to finding solutions to restore pay and improve working conditions. Today, we still do not have a credible offer on the table @Melissa_S_Ryan @RossNieuwoudt
