I love giving students choice in assessment. This unit they could take a traditional test or complete a project with many different formats and topics as long as they showed me knowledge of KMT and/or IMFs. So much creativity makes grading a lot more interesting! #FCPSVanguard

I took @InnovativeLaura’s advice and graded my students’ writing while conferencing with them. I’m done grading, we had great conversations centered around the new NGSS rubric, and their revisions are much better than they ever were with written feedback. Win win! #FCPSVanguard

I always start the year with this mindset, but now it’s almost midterm, the honeymoon is over, the kids are tired, the content is getting harder, and it’s really easy to label them “lazy” or “disrespectful” or [insert negative adjective]. This episode helped me mentally reset.
