Reading about the mass displacement in Ukraine, including 15,000 ppl sheltering in the Kyiv subway, and thinking of how hard it must be for ppl w/ chronic diseases, mental health conditions, substance use disorders, disabilities, to access what they need to survive 💊💉🍲

@DrKimSue @drmag00 I fear that, much like people who died during COVID from non-COVID causes because they couldn't get a hospital bed, they will be uncounted casualties of war :(

@DrKimSue @meganranney I'm going to state this plainly: Today I saw a picture of a small child in a Ukrainian hospital who needed 6 treatments a day for his kidney disease. I am certain Putin's army will eventually strike that hospital with multiple rounds of artillery.

@DrKimSue Imagine that plus having to walk hundreds of miles to a border (what do you take? how do you carry it? your pets? your children?) in freezing or below freezing temps. Do you start out, knowing you likely won't survive? Or do you stay put, knowing you likely won't survive?
