Give yourself and others compassion for the diverse ways we experience and express grief. Whether you are weeping, posting, distracting, praying, strategizing, or raging, your heart deserves tenderness.

Friendly reminder: You can’t say “yes” to everything and not say “yes” to taking care of yourself.

Whenever I assess mental health struggles, they always seem to trace back to societal and political struggles happening globally. Geopolitical issues are mental health issues.

It’s a good time to declutter your life. Weeds and dry ground don’t serve your growth.

It’s totally possible to live in joy. Embody a sense of peace. Unlearn harmful colonial conditioning. Reconnect with ancestors & acknowledge possible historical trauma. Parent yo’self. Feel yo intense feelings. And NOT feel like a f’ing victim.

Tired. And there is no way around this grief but to feel it. May there be moments of softness and care for you today. Always.

Black people have sought safety for as long as we’ve been here. Safety is our birthright, and I will keep fighting for it.

My heart breaks for our elders who escaped white supremacist violence in the south only to be murdered by the same white supremacist violence in the north.

If everyone needs therapy, than the “issue” is bigger than two people. It’s structural. It’s systemic. It’s within the mental health system. Once again, we are placing band aids on 500 year old wounds. This emotional work needs to include BOTH systems + supporting people.

It may seem counterintuitive but owning mistakes is actually how you take your power and integrity back. Done skillfully there is an alchemical process of forgiving yourself and simultaneously remembering who you are.

If those trying to block you applied a fraction of that energy to building, they would be amazed by the results.

Learning to let things be. Sometimes you destroy more when you decide to control.
