Farage says he can't be held responsible for being a racist and antisemite when a teenager. Yet he thinks Shamima Begum is entirely responsible for her behaviour when the same age... #Reform #racism #Antisemitism

It is very expensive to be poor. Because when you are poor, everything costs more: • You can’t buy in bulk, so you pay higher unit prices • You can’t afford quality, so cheap things break faster and need replacing • You can’t access good credit, so you pay higher interest

If you work in education and don't follow Emma what is the matter with you? The wisest and most authentic account on here.
‘They refuse point blank to work in class with teachers.’ I was told this by a HT about a consultant/SIP who had worked with the school on pedagogy/practice. I find this utterly baffling. If you’re putting yourself out there as being an advisor in teaching, be prepared to teach!

I read an awful lot of educational rubbish on here - admittedly mainly from the secondary sector - but Emma has hit a real high here.
🧵Sometimes you pull over in a lay-by and want to howl with frustration. Working in edu for 28 yrs & now with hundreds of schools every year & the stories I heard once a in a blue moon are now multiple times in a single class in almost all schools. It’s absolutely heartbreaking

FRAUD CONVICTED: Two from Farage's partner's network were just found guilty of money laundering. The media ignores this massive scandal, but amplified Rayner's mistake for months. They protect Farage and his £885K cash house that dodged £44K in tax. Farage is the fraud.

I have seen strident negative predictions about the Francis review before it was released from high profile educators who haven't read it. Now that it is available what are their informed criticisms as opposed to ideological tribalism?

@thecarolemalone We all ought to be terrified of Farage. 44million ‘ordinary, decent’ Germans voted for Hitler in 1936. Years later people asked how could that happen. This is how it begins- take one far right party speaking lies to a disillusioned population willing to believe anything.

YOUNG PEOPLE. LISTEN UP. Today Nigel Farage said the government should cut the minimum wage for young people ...to “raise aspiration” and “boost business" It's £10ph FFS! Lower your pay so you’ll dream bigger DO YOU SEE IT NOW? Spread far & wide. https://t.co/rKXf1RcMT9

The Reform leader said cutting the minimum wage for young people would boost business, as he attacked plans to raise taxes on the wealthy

@reformexposed The UK national minimum wage for young people is currently £7.55. Farage thinks that's too high. Reform are the enemy of working people.

At last a voice of reason in this febrile debate. As with so many issues here this one has become binary when nuance is everything. And people who say isolation is only used for serious offences are being disingenuous.
Isolation has raised its head again. Some see it as cruel, others as essential. The truth sits somewhere in between. Lesson removal is sometimes necessary. However, removing a child for grey socks isn’t behaviour management, it’s control theatre.🧵

And this ladies and gentlemen is the ReformUK playbook.
Gavin Newsom just said the quiet part out loud: “All this anti-woke stuff is just anti-Black. Period. Full stop.” And he’s right. “Anti-woke” was never about ideas, it was a marketing campaign to sanitize racism, roll back progress, and make bigotry sound intellectual.

This has been in plain sight for years, ignored by both main parties and most media outlets. The government must now have the inquiry that Boris Johnson refused. Enough of the cover ups. We must now have light. https://t.co/xEuPLtUdjp

Government targets party’s ‘softness on standing up to Putin’ to show Reform is out of step with UK public
Britain has a Russia problem. And his name is Nigel Farage. Today, Ofcom finally banned RT. 8 long years after Russia illegally invaded Crimea. But this is their man. RT - whose editor described it as a "weapon" of the Russian state - is what made Farage into who is today. 1/

A measured, balanced response from someone who actually understands what research is and how it can contribute to the dialogue of improvement.
🧵 Bennett's latest #substackattack Another day, another hot take about “activism disguised as research”. A few thoughts (from someone who actually does research on ed & wellbeing) re. what the BERJ study on school isolation rooms does/doesn't say etc. https://t.co/AorFdegAi7

If you run an organisation with the word Research in it and you are the govnmt Behaviour and Attendance "ambassador" is it diplomatic to refer to a large scale BERA research paper as nonsense? I'm not convinced myself 🤔
