It’s very impressive when one considers that there are only 1000 million $LINK in the (1 Billion) total supply.

That is incorrect. The Chainlink Team did not mention that staking was to be announced anytime in 2021.
Now that the Chainlink Team has announced staking in 2022, we can all be assured that it will happen. They never fail to keep their promises.
