Who agrees with me? There is a dire shortage of doctors signing up to heart failure fellowships with >60% programs unfilled. I propose the following: - allow the entry into HF training to general internists—including those who did not match to cardiology - if they then proceed

24 head CTs were obtained for every 100 ED visits among Medicare beneficiaries in 2023, an 80% increase from a decade ago. Overall CT utilization, per ED visit in the Medicare population, more than doubled since 2013. @arosenkrantzmd in @radiology_rsna https://t.co/6ttmSd2719

Fun Fact: The Tommy John Surgery was invented in 1974 by Orthopedist Dr. Jobe - a graduate of Loma Linda University School of Medicine. The procedure has become so prevalent an estimated one-third of all major league pitchers have undergone it

In this Editor’s Page, I outline why we believe authors can use AI tools to improve scientific writing—if they fully own what they submit. At JACC, we won’t stigmatize responsible use of AI. But we will insist on accountability. https://t.co/yIjXsct4mS @JACCJournals @YaleMed

Do we have it the wrong way around? Reduced GFR is cited as a reason to defer simultaneous initiation of #kidneyGDMT due to potential impact of acute đź”˝ in GFR - but randomised data indicate diminished acute "dips" at lower GFR for RASi, SGLT2i & combo SGLT2/nsMRA @mvaduganathan

Important study! Confirms AFIRE trial results. No role for long term ASA with OAC— only harm. So many patients in the US remain on both!

Who agrees with me that obesity paradox in heart failure is a hoax? Why would obesity create a survival benefit? In all studies reporting this phenomenon obese individuals were younger and healthier. No accounting for all confounders is possible. A statistical artifact.

Do heart transplant patients always need invasive angio to screen for graft vasculopathy❓ 📜 https://t.co/JVR5PRa1VN In this meta-analysis, CTA/PET had pretty respectable sensitivity/NPV for ruling out graft vasculopathy compared to a gold standard of invasive angiography.
