The injury was a part of it that’s for sure, and the fact he was told he would be in a qb2 competition with Sam darnold when he came back ( which he won ) and then was told darnold was the starter , it was a complete sham to treat him that way , shame on Shanahan and lynch

This is exactly why the 49ers traded Trey Lance. It would be over right now for Brock Purdy. Trey Lance would be named QB1 coming of the bye and he would have never looked back. The “franchise QB” the niners drafted would be ready and niners fans would rejoice.

I thought Lance won the QB position and only lost it because he got injured? Y’all do realize that Kyle Shanahan is a quarterback killer.

KS gave SD the 2 spot over the phone. He just figured once he scratched the QB runs- SD would beat him out. TL then comes in after an off-season w/Christensen & fcks up his plan. KS then CAN'T admit he was wrong & wrote him off prematurely.
