Globally, there are enough resources for everyone to win. We as a civilization just need to realize this and support the notion of collectivism. People do not need to be hungry, thirsty, without a home etc.

@shawncleary By this logic, a “typical Canadian” does not ‘need’ all of the things we enjoy. It is possible, what you’ve provided strengthened my initial point?

@qsforesight Worked well in Africa pre slavery, great in Canada pre-colonialism to give a few quick examples. Placing the needs of the group over that of the individual. Have a look at “Afrocentrism” that is a theory/practice derived on the collective.

@DericoSymonds Collectivism can absolutely exist in a capitalistic society. It would simply require that those with the bulk of the wealth and all corporations be taxed appropriately. Thatcherism and Reganomics lead to this system of inequality. There shouldn’t be “the ultra rich”.
