A9: In stores, I’m cautious about signing up for new credit accounts at checkout; it’s not worth exposing personal info just for a one-time discount. Just be on top of sharing your info. Online, I use secure sites, never public Wi-Fi, and I always check statements weekly during

A9. 1. Make sure the sites are secure. 2. Lock all cards that I'm not using or have auto pay on. 3. Keep card in my line of sight as much as possible. 4. Put card back in my wallet before I leave the counter. 5. Use an RFID blocker card and wallet. #CreditChat @Experian

A10: Use unique, strong passwords for every retail and banking site. Even better: use a password manager. And, 2FA. If one retailer gets hacked, thieves can't access all your accounts. It takes 2 minutes and could save you months of headaches. #creditchat @experian

A6. The best strategy is to take inventory of your home. Did your live values change? Do you NEED it or do you WANT it? I typically just think about how many times I'm really going to use the item before purchase. Think before you regret! #CreditChat @Experian

@Experian A6. I always ask myself, "Do I need it?" Sometimes the answer is no and I still want it, but that question is key to helping you pause a little. Do I want it because it's flashy and grabbing my attention, or will it actually serve a purpose? #creditchat

A6: Be like Santa. Have a list. Check it twice, or more. Have it with you when you are shopping online or in person. It the item isn't there, click away or walk right by. #creditchat

A6: Sleep on it. If you still want it tomorrow, fine. But that 24-hour pause kills most impulse buys. Also, leave your credit cards at home when you're just browsing. You can't spend if you don't have it you. (And, disable Google Wallet or ApplePay!) #creditchat @experian
