Epsilon Spring Bundle > Coatings for cores and weapons > $14
Seven Sisters Shader > Shader that is universal for player gear > 300 Bright Dust in-game currency (effectively free with some gameplay)
This is pathetic.
Maybe Infinite’s coating system is more complicated under the hood or whatever. Maybe it’s a lot harder to account for different cores and whatnot. Why the hell is it a $14 problem?
@DecepticonCobra
people really trying to say that bundle is cross core when you know for a fact it won't apply to any new cores that come out in the future
@HiddenXperia
I mean, if you bought the bundle then maybe at some point when a new core comes out you get that coating for free. But even then $14 is absurd.
@DecepticonCobra
Coming back to Destiny 2 highlights how good Shaders are with these types of systems. Originally being a consumable and now they’re a constantly accessible item which which applied to 11 unique item types, five of which are on the character themselves.
@natariliz
It definitely took time for shaders to get there, but comparing the two Destiny’s is far superior. I’ll just say it, I don’t think 343 should be charging money for coatings if they continue to be core-locked or require the same price as a battle pass.
@DecepticonCobra
D2 has a yearly $60 expansion as well as seasonal battle passes. I really don't think it's the same. Shaders and other cosmetics are only a secondary income for D2. Cosmetics are Infinite's only income.
@DecepticonCobra
Destiny 2 sells 50-100$ dlc every year, with multiple seasons and shit. Halo infinite is COMPLETELY free with FREE events and half free battlepass that fully refunds you. Cmon.
@DecepticonCobra
im just in so much disbelief that no one at 343 thought that making a universal system for coatings for pieces would had been easier on the long run than just each one being different
like. H O W they think people will be ok with this 😭
@DecepticonCobra
Destiny 2 started as one of the worst live service games I’ve ever seen but now is one of the best. Infinite is in Season 3, a year later, by this time Bungie would release Foresaken. The difference in what has been delivered is insane. Bungie recovered, 343 are just rotting.
@DecepticonCobra
And even in a game like destiny shaders can feel quite restrictive. Idealy i would love to see a Anthem type system where you get to choose the colors, texture, amount of wear, decals etc...
@DecepticonCobra
Genuinely I didn’t mind the req packs, you played well enough and could earn a Gold pack with several permenant unlocks in like 2 games. It felt shit that it was randomised but you could earn the paid content just by playing well. Felt much better than this.
