I'll watch any college basketball game regardless of the teams or venue, and these multi-team events produce several compelling non-conference matchups. But the on-campus games have SO much more energy and are so much better for the game.
@DavidWorlock
Agree, would like to see more guaranteed home and home 2 year sets. But, if it takes the neutral court to get 2 top-50 teams to play, I'll consider it a win
@mattyb37
I'm talking about half-filled 18,000-seat venues. You're talking about 70,000 people in a 70,000-seat configuration with tons of energy and enthusiasm. Not quite the same thing.

Right now there’s:
ACC-B1G
SEC-Big12
B1G-Big East
PAC-12 would have to find a conference to double-up like B1G has. Unless they want to dance with the American.

It’d be fun. The hard aspect is every conference is upping their number of conference games. Fewer non-conference games = less flexibility/desire to give up a game where teams can’t control the opponent.
@DavidWorlock
Yeah, unfortunately it seems like the only way to make two major-conference teams play each other in November/December. Hardly any big names are willing to do home & homes anymore.

I agree. Hokie fan and watching us lose was hard, but seeing MSG completely empty was sad to watch. You could hear buzz williams whispering in there
@DavidWorlock
Coaches have become afraid of NC road games. As a result, schools give away some of their best games at the expense of their best customers (season ticket holders). I don't get it.
@DavidWorlock
So true. I tried to get me and my family to the Bahamas to see
@SMUBasketball
& improve the sterile atmosphere, but I couldn't find flight for < $900 per seat.
