Such a crazy feeling to finally hold a copy of A Failed Vision of Empire: The Collapse of Manifest Destiny, 1845-1872. @UnivNebPress did such a fine job with the cover and I couldn’t be prouder! It’s been an amazing journey and I can’t wait for you all to read it.

W Pens fans. They've done this a few times for Ovi now. Caps fans should pay the same respect to Crosby next time he's honored at Cap One
Alex Ovechkin gets a standing ovation from the Penguins crowd as he’s honored at the first TV timeout for reaching 900 career goals last night. The respect they have for him here is really cool to see

The term “generational talent” gets tossed too easily these days. Sidney Crosby scored 102 pts as an 18-year-old, put up 120 points the next year, and made back-to-back cup final the next two years. That’s generational. Ovechkin scored 106 points his first year. Generational.

Jayden Daniels made some big throws but a couple killer mistakes. But they had an 8 point lead and failed to tackle Swift on a short pass; couldn’t stop the run. The D just hasn’t played anywhere near expected. Daniels will recover. The D hasn’t shown reason to think it’ll change

Gone but not forgotten. Hope you enjoy this chat as much as I did.
The Whig Party has been largely forgotten, but before the Republican Party (1854), it was the main competitor to the Democratic Party. Stream our podcast interview with a researcher and editor leading the project to compile the letters of Zachary Taylor. https://t.co/uj7t2KMfIG

Highly recommended :)
In A FAILED VISION OF EMPIRE, @DanielJBurge examines the belief in manifest destiny over the nineteenth century, arguing that the ideology was not wildly popular and typically did not succeed in unifying expansionists. Get books 50% off: https://t.co/C1cP9e6vJR

Really enjoyed this chat! Kentucky Chronicles rolls on.
Veterans of the Civil War are often depicted as having reconciled in reunions in the late nineteenth century. Grainy images often show grizzled veterans shaking hands, symbolically pulling the nation back together. Yet how accurate is this portrayal? https://t.co/NfsdZqJQFb

I’m sorry, but this hit is actually textbook. Full force into Carrier’s shoulder, head movement as a result. Don’t expect supplemental discipline here. This is a case of “Wilson is huge and even his clean hits do big damage.”
