Grateful to the EMDR therapist who gave me free treatment for my PTSD on the understanding I 'pass it on' for someone else when I qualify- I wouldn't have been able to continue the DClin or manage having my daughter, without her generosity at such a low point in my life

It has taken a long time (one wedding, one newborn baby, one month long hospital admission and my CSA case finally getting a court date significantly slowed the research process...) but I'm so glad there will be something to show for my participants' time and effort 🥹

Long time no post- but just wanted to say that I finally have a complete and validated measure of the voice hearing relationship, the VHEARS. Analysis is done and I'm completing the write up. I will get contact everyone who supported the development as soon as I can- thank you!

PIP isn’t awarded solely to those who aren’t working. It’s there to help with the extra costs of disabilities - costs that don’t disappear when someone gets a job. For many, it’s what makes work possible. Removing it would push many out of employment.

Senior clinicians are still advocating partial weight restoration for patients with severe anorexia 🤔. We showed that this results in deterioration and relapse. Without fixing nutritional deficiencies, people remain chronically ill physically and mentally. It’s essential.
Integrated CBTE improves outcomes for anorexia nervosa - YouTube Thinking about this presentation we did with @sensinglorna. It’s hard for people to share their experiences publicly, but it’s important to give hope to others who may feel hopeless

Please consider signing this petition & supporting the Adoption Support Fund. Currently its continuation & remits are unknown. So many people are in limbo & it is causing huge ripple effects to so many children, families, & their supporting professionals-

Averil is more than a statistic. She was a vibrant, loving young woman whose life was cut short due to negligence at @NHSEngland . We must address these systemic issues to prevent further tragedies. #nhs #failure

I can't emphasise enough what a difference it made when my case was finally assigned to this team. Whatever happens from this point, it doesn't matter, because I know the truth, and it's not me who needs to be ashamed

I am fortunate that my case was finally given to a team that specialises in historical child sexual abuse cases. Without this I don't think it would have gotten to this point. Years went by where lack of resources meant nothing happened.

Sharing this because I have seen so many examples on here of survivors going through all of this only to be told there isn't enough evidence to take the case forward. You all have my love, respect... I see you and I grieve with you and I believe you

I've had confirmation that CPS are charging in my CSA case. He is being charged with six counts of sexual assault. If it goes to trial, it will likely be 2026 when this takes place. I reported him in January 2021.

“people who are terminally ill shouldn’t have to suffer” and “under capitalism and austerity with next to no social supports, crumbling healthcare and constant vitriol about “people who don’t contribute” euthanasia can/will be used as a culling tool” are both true at once

Some of the replies to this.🤦🏻♂️ Surely helping a young person with no parental support to get on in life makes it less likely they’ll need to rely on benefits in later life? If you disagree, that’s fine. Vote for someone else. The GM I lead will always back our care leavers! 💪🏻
Yesterday, Greater Manchester approved free travel passes up until the age of 25 for young people who have experienced care. Through devolution, important progressive steps continue to be made.

EMDR is wild. The way my body is responding and the waves of emotion and physical pain/release is just beyond anything I expected. I could never have managed this before exactly this point in my life. But it's changing everything and I think I'll be a lot better

The hardest work l've ever done wasn't paid. It was staying alive when I was at my lowest. It was caring for someone I loved. It was surviving when survival felt impossible. Work takes many forms. #DWP #Benefits #InvisibleWork #Work

Trauma survivors are busy just surviving growing up. We didn't have the bandwidth, guidance, or modeling to learn how to create meaning & enjoy life-- both of which involve skillsets most humans aren't born with. Recovery is learning on our own what we should have been taught.

You need to know that your motivation in trauma recovery is gonna fluctuate. It doesn't mean you don't "really" want to recover-- it means you've been insufficiently resourced & supported in the past, & your nervous system is ambivalent about committing to hope. Easy does it.
