Seeing some creek and stream rises in the mountains this morning. Minor flooding is possible in a few areas in Avery and Caldwell counties even though the steady rain has moved on.

We are currently tied for the our coldest morning of the season at 44° in Charlotte (even getting below freezing in the mountains!) These numbers likely go down even more before sunrise. Layer up as you head out the door this morning.

There's an elevated fire danger risk across our region today thanks to the very dry and breezy conditions. Be mindful with smoking materials and don't do any brush burning. These conditions last at least through tomorrow.

There's something about dry Octobers lately. We've only seen 0.07" of rain in CLT this month and it's the second VERY dry Oct, in a row. As a matter of fact, the past 4 Oct. have only produced a combined 1.96" of rain! While we do see a chance for rain tonight, it won't be much.
