I met an Afghan man, resettled here after the fall of Kabul… he is educated, cultured, well-travelled and hard working. I’m very proud to say he and his family have become dear friends. He now cannot ever return home despite that being his dream. We have let these people down.
My view on the Afghan mess is clear. I would resettle the tiny number who actually helped us, including those currently in the UK, to a safe third country. Afghanistan is a backward country, with a medieval culture - we do not need more Afghan men in Britain. End of story.

Yesterday our old school, Huntington School, performed a brilliant version of Disco Down at their end-of-year arts concert. It’s not just that they sounded incredible…it was where it happened. That same assembly room where, aged 11, Rick and I saw our first ever live band. 1/3

1/2.I am terribly sorry for what happend to @TamauPogi. I was trying to follow a move and I can see that I was to close. I tought everyone would move to the right, but I made a mistake and would like to say sorry again. I hope he is as good as he can be after a crash like that.

Just been speaking to an Afghan friend, relocated here under ARAP. He doesn't feel in any danger from the Taliban here in the UK, but the data leak has pretty much removed any chance he may ever have of returning back to Afghanistan with his family. He had hoped to one day. 😢.
