Can confirm. Hearing kids using 'that's gay' as an insult is utterly depressing. I feel we've gone back to Section 28. It is easy to see the influence of the US turn to the right, increasingly anti LGBT UK politics, & a wave of exploitative YouTube & Tiktok 'male influencers'.
We are seeing huge increase in ‘That’s So Gay’ used as an insult, especially in primary schools. I’m in a primary school in Cardiff today working with all of KS2 to develop understanding of what gay means, through the lens of family, to raise empathy & stop its use as an insult.
