This week, the Corps Of Engineers ran a Working In Confined Spaces (WICS) Search course as part of Ireland's participation in the EDA Military Capability development program. Students including Military and Police from Spain, Italy and Cyprus joined Irish sappers in the course.

The Corps of Engineers recently completed their annual TACEX in Lynch Camp, Co. Cork. Sappers of the Corps were put through their paces during our 96hr ground exercise. They conducted tactical training on bridging, demolitions, CBRN and a variety of combat engineering skills.

The Corps of Engineers Annual Corps Concentration is drawing to a close in Lynch Camp this week. The Sappers of the Corps spent last week training and honing their skills in bridging, mine clearance, CBRN and combat engineering before putting it into practice on the 72hr TACEX.

The Breathing Apparatus Initial Wearers Course are entering their second week in Hacketstown Fire Station. This demanding course introduces students to hot and humid atmospheres where they are tasked with recovering casualties and fighting fires in dynamic situations throughout.

The Defence Forces first ground-mounted solar PV array is operational in Lynch Camp, Kilworth. The installation was a joint effort by 1 Bde Engr Gp and PV Generation. The array generated more electricity than the Camp consumed on the day of handover! #LynchCampDecarbinisation

@DF_Engineers recently deployed a Military Training Team to Cyprus for a 4 week period to support the Ukrainian Armed Forces in military search and demining TTPs. This was the second deployment of this nature in 2023 as part of EUMAM hosted by @GuardCypriot

Last week, @DF_Engineers from 1 & 2 Bde Engr Gps conducted a Swiftwater Rescue Technician Course, accredited by @Rescue3europe. This qualification enables @defenceforces to deploy in ATCA to support local authorities following flooding, as happened in Co Cork back in October

2 Fd Engr Coy's evaluation culminated yesterday with a chemical attack on one of the Pl's, testing the Company's ability to react to this threat, conduct immediate decontamination followed by a full decontamination of all armour assets and personnel #gasgasgas #survivetofight

The Engineer YOs & Combat Engineer Course finished their FTX yesterday morning, constructing a number of minefields by night to block the enemies advance, followed by a dawn extraction to the Hill of Tara. Congratulations to all students from both courses on completion of the FTX
