𧡠6/6 Thereβs so much more Iβd want to say & do now but I hope you appreciate I need to focus on recovering. Brain surgery & its impact isnβt something to take lightly & the effort of these tweets has made my head hurt. So this is an interruption of my break which will continue

𧡠5/6 The report highlights registrants who died from suicide while undergoing fitness to practise. Iβm very aware of the distress caused. FTP can take too long & safeguarding support is needed. As someone personally bereaved by suicide, I understand the concerns & Iβm so sorry

π§΅4/6 While I was in hospital the independent report into NMC culture was published highlighting unacceptable behaviours, racism & impact on our work. Iβm devastated this happened under my leadership & Iβm sorry my efforts to improve fell so short. I apologise to all affected

While I'm so sorry to be stepping down due to my impending neurosurgery (see pinned post), I'm glad I'm going to be leaving @nmcnews in Dawn's very safe & capable hands. This role has been such a privilege and I wish her very good luck for the future.
Weβre pleased to welcome Dawn Brodrick CB as our Interim Chief Executive and Registrar, who will take up her role on 1 July. She will lead the organisation while we seek a permanent successor to Andrea Sutcliffe π https://t.co/W6BwEu5Tzb

Great to see my local hospital @WhitHealth celebrating the contribution estates & facilities colleagues make on #HealthEFMDay My first job in NHS was as a summer holiday cleaner - I learnt a lot.
Today is National Healthcare Estates and Facilities Day π Thank you to our unsung heroes for all you do around the clock to keep our services running! #HealthEFMDay
