Interesting that when I mention the other place by name I get very few views and no likes, and once I remove the name it seems to show up on more people’s feeds! Something in the algorithm, perhaps?

I am now at the other place as Catherine Coxon and also at Tírdhreacha Chonamara for Conamara landscapes with comments as Gaeilge. But I am still missing some friends from here, so here are four Conamara sunsets to wish you a happy new year. Hope to see you over yonder in 2025!

I now have two accounts on Bluesky: I mainly post on water quality and wider environmental matters at @catherinecoxon.bsky.social and I post photos of Conamara with captions as Gaeilge from @duichechonamara.bsky.social

Irish freshwater and groundwater people and organisations: there’s a nice Irish environment community building over where skies are blue 🦋 but there aren’t many watery people there yet. I know many need to maintain a presence here but it would be lovely to see you there too!

A western sunset, more to follow at @catherinecoxon.bsky.social
I have now set up a Bluesky account, you can find me there at @catherinecoxon.bsky.social. Not sure if I will be able to find the great diverse group of people I follow here so I won't delete this account just yet, but there is a big attraction to a Public Benefit Corporation!

The flooding in Spain was made twice as likely by climate change, and the rainfall 12% heavier. #Climate change also made the warm Atlantic Ocean temperatures that added moisture to the storm 50-300 times more likely.

War on water is a crime against humanity. @ihedelft
Desalination and water pumping stations in the North have completely stopped due to a lack of fuel. No aid trucks have entered in weeks due to the Israeli occupation's siege, causing a total collapse of civilian infrastructure. Around 400,000 people will be left without water

The letter is measured, and calls primarily for more AMOC shutdown research. But it is signed by a who’s who of the world’s most pre-eminent researchers, and they say they believe the risk has been “greatly underestimated”. Letter 👉 https://t.co/59cQRlbi2t

Yesterday 44 of the world’s leading climate scientists wrote an open letter about collapse of the Atlantic Ocean’s circulation (AMOC) When I interviewed one of them about the consequences of AMOC reaching a tipping point he could barely keep it together. 🧵
