37 tech companies have laid off in 2024. If I was interviewing right now, I’d want these answers before accepting an offer. - How’s the company funded? .- How’s it managing resources in the current climate?.- Why is this position open?.- Is this company actually profitable? .-.

One of the easiest GenAI trends to spot is candidates trying to cram pre-prepared examples as interview questions. Any decent recruiter can sniff this out immediately. It’s basically:. - star method.- some JD keywords added.- irrelevant example .- no depth on relevant skills.

Theory on RTO push beyond subtle layoffs/CRE is overall consumption economy being a driver. Across industries -> more time in office -> less free time -> more consumption to close gap. Coffee at home? Starbucks RTO.More time for chores? Cleaning services with RTO. Etc.

Most underrated interview skill is the ability to actually answer the question being asked.

I worry about AI taking job, but then something makes me do a 180. I try using LinkedIn Recruiter AI for sourcing. After that? Feeling of job security 10xs. Insane how bad it still is.

Bios reading “former 9 figure [insert profession] teaching people how to do the same” are impossible to believe. Like why would anyone making that pivot into selling a course on LinkedIn/X?!. You retire or keep doing it lmao.

What year do you think brands start marketing “human made”?. Feel like this is inevitable with AI advancing. And feel like it’s inevitable it starts getting marketed the same way “made in the USA” was. My bet is 2028.

The weirdest subreddit has been being pushed to me. Generationology. It’s asking various questions about someone’s age using various ways. Ex use one word to describe the year you were born. All new accounts has to be an llm.

People are missing a critical aspect of the ChatGPT wave. And it’s that it’s tailoring responses based on past inputs, specific to you. So if you aren’t aware of your own bias easy way to create your own echo chamber.

Job market has been bad while economy chugs along bc of margin protection. Layoff to boost margin. Push costs to customers to boost margin. Undoubtedly a K shaped economy at this point.
