Kolkata now has a larger population than Mumbai, with 22.5 million people. A city this size should be a GDP giant, but it still economically lags behind many other cities. Is this a red flag? I’m not an economist, so those who are more knowledgeable, feel free to comment.

There should be a 5 year moratorium on debating ridership numbers for metros, RRTS, VB after their launch. It will take time to build last mile connectivity for these projects.
