Methodology: This study analyzed the top 10 CEXs by spot trading volume using CoinGecko data from January 1 to July 31, 2025. Market share was taken based on total monthly spot volume. Read the full study 👇.

6/ To be specific, the trading volume of the top 10 exchanges decreased by 27.7% in Q2. This reflects a $1.5T drop, bringing the total volume to $3.9T.

5/ Interestingly, seven of the top 10 exchanges saw trading volumes drop in 2025 Q2. Six of them saw double-digit percentage drops, with dropping the most — its volume plunged by 61.4% to $216.4B, down from $560.2B in 2025 Q1.

4/ Gate ranked #3 in July with $137.2B in volume (+61.3% MoM) and a 7.8% market share.

3/ MEXC jumped to #2 in July from #8 in 2025 Q1. MEXC recorded $150.4B in spot volume and an 8.6% market share, a 61.8% MoM increase from $93B in Q1.

2/ Binance led CEXs in July with a 39.8% market share and $698.3B in spot volume (+61.4% MoM). This was attributed to Bitcoin hitting multiple all-time highs.
