Aside from the business component on the end of the organization, how does a player playing at their age level in travel ball beneficial to them long term if they have the talent to play up?It’s the only time in their career they will play only kids their age

So much great info for young pitchers from @Paul_Skenes during the CWS broadcast last night. His areas of growth over the last year? - Getting stronger - Improved mechanics - Sleep, recovery, nutrition “It is simple if you do it for a long period of time.” @FlatgroundApp

I hope all aspiring college baseball players are watching the @CWSOmaha. There is a ton that can be learned from watching these games and you get a glimpse into just how good players at this level are. The talent level in college baseball right now is ridiculously high.

Congratulations to @Clipper_Ball on winning the 2023 State Championship. Very well deserved by a team who competes hard, made big time plays time and time again, and left everything out on the field. Great job by Coach Cardoso, Coach Allard and Coach Nunes.

4) If you want to Win, the name on the front of the jersey has to be more important than the name on the back. 5) Family, friends & life are good distractions, don’t forget to enjoy them. 6) Master the fundamentals and you will always be prepared.

10 lessons from 10 years in MLB 1) The best compliment you can get is that you are a Great teammate 2) You are never as good or as bad as they say you are. Keep your head down & keep working. 3) Once today is gone you can’t get it back. So give your best right now.

As much as it’s important to throw off a mound from a specificity standpoint, you can still train command (amongst other things) on flat ground. Here are @nolancanestrari ‘25 and Braxton Pearson ‘24 using @DrivelineBB command training balls as part of their command competition.

This, combined with the opportunity to get unlimited reps and access to facilities. Is it nature or nurture?

Do we think this is more attributed to having great genetics or the fact that they grew up in an environment where they were surrounded by the highest performers in the world and therefore saw elite movement patterns from a young age.

Always been curious about this. We see so many sons of former professional athletes having success at very high levels. Vlad Jr., Tatis Jr., Marvin Harrison Jr., Bichette, Biggio, etc and going back to Griffey, Bonds and on and on.

Is the kid never going to be expected to throw more than 2 innings at the college level? If it’s a workload thing, how does a kid that threw a handful of innings in HS benefit from throwing 10-15 innings over the course of the summer? Curious if I’m missing something

I also get it from a financial perspective where it allows organizations to carry more arms but how does it set the player up for success long term? What happens when they get to the college they are showcasing themselves to and can’t navigate a lineup the second time through?

Haven’t figured out how the trend of pitchers throwing 2 innings at a time on the travel ball circuit helps anyone from a player development perspective. I get it from an exposure standpoint where it allows guys to showcase their best stuff for a short period of time

Winning a HS state championship is SPECIAL! The players go to school with each other in most cases for years, parents know each other, and it means something to the community. HS athletics bring people together and form a bond forever. HS athletics can't be replaced.

Only acceptable reasons to miss practice after age 14. -Hurt -Death in the family -Mandatory School assignment (not homework) -Extremely RARE Family event (Not a birthday or vacation) Being on a team is a commitment, it’s time we treated it like that again.
