I have a lot of respect for Trev Alberts and Scott Frost, but Scott did not get the job done at Nebraska and everyone knew that. I well know that Nebraska almost has unlimited money for football, but it’s irresponsible to pay 15mil when you could wait a few weeks and save 7.5.
This has clearly become a trend in the power five conferences, and the simple reason is the huge amounts of money each team in each conference gets for their TV revenues
@CoachJoeMoglia
Coach I don't believe anyone can argue with you when it comes to money. Your business mind and track record speaks for itself. I believe this was a mercy decision though.....both for Scott and the players but also the fans. In this age of almost monopoly TV money a in the B1G it

@Zack_Carp
It’s a great opportunity to move on and let Nebraska be Nebraska.
Bringing in Fox and getting marquee airtime this week without talking about “the coach on the hot seat” non-stop. Its 7.5mm for a PR reset, which companies tend to pay out the ass for
@CoachJoeMoglia
Lost in the shuffle, the restructuring of Frost’s contract last year saves us $6mil already. Would it have been better to save the 7.5? Absolutely, but Trev saved us that at least. I think too, it may have been a, if not now lose donors situation.
@CoachJoeMoglia
And if by doing it now we win a few more and keep the sellout streak alive, would it be worth it? Last we heard from Trev we had some work to do with selling out the remainder of games.

@NebraskaRivals
I think it was Trev sending a message that the players are more important than the money. The loss to So Ga was beyond demoralizing, it was clear what needed to happen and the players needed this move to happen now.
@CoachJoeMoglia
said this b4: The mood around the team AND all the underlying issues going into a prime time gm with national audience and then a loss to Indy would be A LOT worse than the losing $7.5 mill
Next Sat the whole narrative is a 180!
