We all depend on care — to grow, to heal, to live. But the care work that sustains us is still undervalued and mostly done by women and girls. Get the facts about unpaid care work and see how it powers the economy: https://t.co/0W5ygb0lbd

So moving to see Claire Chick's family receive her posthumous doctoral award. She clearly touched so many lives & her research on promoting resilience in student nurses is so important. Her impact is continued by a fund in her name https://t.co/32zxtQvPje

After many years arguing that accreditation in psychology should be only doctoral level, the American Psychological Association has announced it will begin accrediting masters-level professionals, although they won't be able to use the title "Psychologist"

Great preview of forthcoming movie "Sorry, Baby" today @BFI Southbank. Writer & directer @evavictor explained how she set out to focus not on the violence of trauma but the process of healing & support. The result is an authentic & tender story bound with a thread of dry humour.

As usual there's loads more than theatre, I highly recommend Women of Rock at which you are guaranteed both a brilliant performance & new insights into the female pioneers of rock music. I didn’t see much comedy, but enjoyed Susie McCabe & heard good things about Kieran Hodgson.

At @edintfest Make it Happen a musical drama about the fall of RBS was brilliant, managing to be both absurd & insightful. The highlight had to be CEO Fred Goodwin & the ghost of Adam Smith (played wonderfully by Brian Cox) karaoke singing Kylie & Jason's hit “Especially for you”

Leaving Edinburgh after 5 days at the Festivals😢 Really missed the @painesplough Roundabout at Summerhall, but still loads of great theatre inc. Ordinary Decent Criminal, MILES. & Paldem, all of which I thought were excellent (imho the @guardian review of the latter is nonsense)

On this day 20 years ago, 52 Londoners, of 18 different nationalities, were killed in 7/7 bombings. Nearly 800 more were injured, many of whom continue to live with the physical & psychological consequences of that day. Remembering them all and their families today.🌹

I was very fortunate to be able to see a preview of #TheSaltPath film this evening with a q&a with author @raynor_winn & screenplay writer Rebecca Lenkiewicz. The film really captures both the beauty of the path & the depth of the relationship that gave them strength to walk it.

An assault on children. An assault on education. A sad day in occupied East Jerusalem. This morning, heavily armed Israeli Forces entered three @UNRWA schools in Shu’fat Camp in occupied East Jerusalem, forcing 550+ girls & boys who were in classrooms out of their schools.

A new study in @ActaPsych from researchers in Canada found that 100% of young people attending a clinic for 1st episode anxiety & mood disorders had read about mental health online & 70% had self-diagnosed. The most frequently reported source was Tik Tok. https://t.co/SvSE78WD8K
