Crews are hard at work at Chancellor Park! Aside from other nearby improvements, come Spring 2024 the park footprint itself will now include bocce and pickle ball courts, newly designed walking paths, an interactive fountain, and a pavilion for event space!

Was pleased to join MVHS for the opening of our new, gorgeous downtown Wynn Hospital. This project has been a catalyst for Downtown Utica and will be a staple of our skyline, our community, and our city for years to come. Photo credit: Mohawk Valley Edge

Utica Mayor Robert M. Palmieri announced the completion of the first outdoor pickleball courts in the history of the City of Utica. The courts are located in Horatio Seymour Park and were completed this fall, following the explosive growth of pickleball across the nation.

We’re proud of the new ice rink and the pickleball courts going at the foot of Roscoe Conkling Park on the Parkway! Ground has been broken and construction is underway. In the winter, people can rent skates and in the summer, it’ll be a pickleball destination.

Utica’s Public Safety Departments are the best in New York State. However, the public safety facilities are not, and that has to change. We have an old building stock that needs to be upgraded and we’re making millions in investments right now.

I’m not sure everyone is aware how substantial the repairs at the Valley View Clubhouse are… We’re adding an entire new wing and grill room, virtual golf, a porch/deck area and much more. Upon completion, this will be a state-of-the-art clubhouse, but also a place for families.

Happy to celebrate the grand opening of Dos Amigos Grocery Store on Bleecker Street! Another great addition to the variety of food and community that we have here in Utica.

Utica Mayor Robert M. Palmieri today announced the beginning of construction for the new splash-pad at Thomas R. Proctor Park. The first-of-its kind water feature is designed to complement the popular new inclusive playground, which was completed in the spring of this year.

Over the past twelve years, we have traveled hundreds of miles thanks to our Quality of Life Sweeps, bringing City Hall to our residents. The best part is the people we have had the privledge to meet.

Our residents want us to fix the roads and we're trying! Our biggest construction investment each year is in paving. With this year's season wrapping up soon, that'll mean around $30 million has been invested in road work over the last five years.

Our 9 hole Disc Golf course is almost done along the Parkway! 📷 A groundbreaking course that restored our woods and enhanced the drainage at once! What better land to utilize than the stretch that runs from Val Bialis to the Utica Zoo, along the glorious Roscoe Conkling Park.

The work at Mott Tennis Courts is exceeding all of our expectations! These courts will be one of the best municipal tennis facilities in New York State. The courts are popular with local children and teenagers, but also host a variety of regional tournaments.

We’re making some fixes to the stormwater infrastructure at Karen Court. This is in effort to alleviate the flooding issues we’ve seen along the Keyes Road neighborhood. North Utica is a challenge when it comes to flooding, but we’re on it…constantly. We want to make it better!

Sidewalks are poured, tree pits are planted, pavers are in and light poles are installed. This has been an amazing project to breathe life into Varick Street. They’re stringing lights across the street now, and when they light up – this is going to be a big showcase for Utica.

One of our goals is to spruce up Hirt Playground. We have cleared the fencing, trimmed up the trees, removed the large mound next to the playset and leveled it out for more usable space. There are also several more ADA improvements coming soon to the park.

Don't know what’s going on at Harbor Point? Then you’re missing out. We’re building a boardwalk, a launch for recreational vehicles, and a new fence around the water’s edge. In the very near future, the Harbor will be open to the public and be a destination for recreation.

We had to show some love to Addison Miller Park! We touched up the wood chip surfaces and fixed the broken swings and the swing set structure itself. We removed the dead tree and added some fresh landscaping at the park entry. This is a great park within the City of Utica!
