UPDATE 9:45 AM (JUNE 27)–While the visible signs of fire have disappeared, crews remain on site to manage hot spots and will continue to remain on scene over the next few days. The fire has officially been marked as 'under control' from BC Wildfire Service.

UPDATE 8:00 PM–The fire is being held and crews remain on scene and will remain on scene overnight. Please continue to stay away from the area while work continues. Thank you to BC Wildfire Service for their quick response and assistance.

UPDATE May 26: Kenna Cartwright Park has reopened to users. Crews may still be working in the area, so please allow them space to work.

While excellent progress has been made on the Kenna Cartwright fire, residents and trail users are reminded to stay away from the Home Depot trailhead to allow crews space to work. The park access from Home Depot is closed until further notice.
