Update 4:55 pm (June 27): Fire is under control. KFR and BC Wildfire crews will remain on scene to address hot spots and extinguish the fire. Residents should continue to avoid the area while crews are on site.

4:00 pm (June 27) - Kamloops Fire Rescue is on scene at a fire in Strathcona Park with assistance en route from BC Wildfire. Residents are asked to avoid this area while crews are on scene.

UPDATE 9:45 AM (JUNE 27)–While the visible signs of fire have disappeared, crews remain on site to manage hot spots and will continue to remain on scene over the next few days. The fire has officially been marked as 'under control' from BC Wildfire Service.

While excellent progress has been made on the Kenna Cartwright fire, residents and trail users are reminded to stay away from the Home Depot trailhead to allow crews space to work. The park access from Home Depot is closed until further notice.

City crews are investigating an apparent water main break in Lower Sahali. The extent and impact of the break are not yet known, however we are asking residents of Upper Sahali, Aberdeen, and Dufferin to reduce their water usage as a precaution until we know more. (1/2)
