People messaging me saying “it might not be big” and you know what, that’s exactly how emergency preparedness works… if it’s a squib you can have the big light on and then eat all your emergency snacks. If it is - well then you are a bit more ready. Win Win 💨
Storm Amy looking like a bit of a minx. Prep for power outage and water supply disruption. Get your torches and lights ready. Charge your phone. No candles 🕯️

The Association for Palliative Medicine has produced a Myth Buster on assisted dying and the Terminally Ill Adults bill. The debate must be based on evidence, not soundbites and spin. It’s an essential tool for Peers, journalists and other commentators. https://t.co/NK6eYisY87

To those who spend their lives caring for children and young people in care – this one’s for you ❤️ This quote came from one of the interviews that informed The Care Experience Questionnaire. It’s about the care journey. It is one of my favourites.

As you can see, Dr Zoe Baker is going the extra mile (pun intended) to raise funds for ourselves at the Care Leavers Association (@CareLeavers) and for the great work done by Settle (@wearesettle). It is appreciated by us all at the CLA. Good luck with all the training, Zoe.
I am running the Yorkshire Marathon in October to raise money for the Care Leavers Association @CareLeavers and Settle @wearesettle 🏃♀️ If you are able to do so, please consider sponsoring me! 🙏😊 https://t.co/0BlStWYqaZ

Thousands of children in care are being moved during their GCSEs and A-Levels. This can have a devastating, lifelong impact. Let's give all children a fair chance. Read & share our 'Moved During Exams' report: https://t.co/K50FFmx0Gl

In the 1990's children in care were blamed for their abuse and criminalised for it. Nothing has been rectified for them! Their criminal records should be expunged! The LAs & police stuck their heads in the sand. The impact of CSA/CSE is lifelong. Many don't make it to adulthood.

If it resonates — it’s because it matters. Every person who takes part in this study moves us closer to understanding how experiences in care — like loss, touch, instability, uncertainty, fear, stress, control, and institutionalisation — influence mental health.

"It is a challenge to celebrate the British parliament’s support for redress for Irish survivors of mother and baby homes when there has been no state apology or redress for those affected by forced family separation in equivalent English institutions. " https://t.co/ycjM4XYog4

It's my day off. I'm on my way to Glasgow. But that didn't stop me from writing a reactionary op-ed for @BigIssue this morning after a Reform councillor referred to some children in care as “not just naughty children... but downright evil.” Read my take below. ⬇️

Discrimination such as this worsens the already poorer life outcomes for #CareExperiencedPeople Being Care Experienced is hard and dangerous enough without those meant to help and protect us telling us we're "evil." https://t.co/TddJpKHSeL
