This year, in line with our Strategic Plan's goal around community, the Class of 2027 started their school year sleeping in the woods! They were presented with a lot of challenges, but they overcame them and became a more cohesive group in the process. Check out the video below.

Cape Henry's Class of 2027 entered Upper School for one day... and then the entire class left for Dolphin Discovery. For three days and two nights, sleeping under the stars near Quantico, VA, they are learning about leadership and each other. That's how we build community!

On this year’s spirit t-shirt, you will see 3 milestones: 1924 - the Everett School begins (predecessor to Cape Henry), 1975 - Cape Henry’s first graduating class, 2024 - Cape’s 50th graduating class and the year we open the Clarke+Ervin Center for Innovation & Performing Arts

At Cape Henry’s Convocation, I was honored to be joined on stage by Cate, Taylor and Eistla who spoke to their peers and to the faculty about our core values. They did a great job kicking off the 2023-2024 school year.

It’s the first day of school at Cape Henry and I’m the proud dad of a 6th grade student! Middle School begins… 😳

Thank you to our Peer Leaders in the Cape Henry Class of 2024 who had a lot of fun in welcoming the Class of 2027 to Upper School today.

Love being at a school that believes in this type of experiential learning. It's powerful for our kids! Bravo to these students who took the challenge and will always remember it!

Progress on the Clarke+Ervin Center for Innovation and Performing Arts continues… today they are pouring the stage floor. Excited thinking about how our students will learn and grow on that stage… from giving speeches to acting to dancing to performing music!

Progress continues on the new Clarke+Ervin Center for Innovation and Performing Arts… I am eager to see how we continue to build an even stronger community in these new spaces… including the new Kramer Theater viewed here

And did I mention our Cape students in Botswana, England, Fiji and Alaska... or our 5th grade students who are finishing up in the Florida Keys? It is a true distinctive of a Cape Henry education... to name the world as our classroom!

From Iceland to Vietnam to Spain to Belize... Cape Henry students are learning all over the world today. That's what we mean in our mission statement when we say "globally aware citizens."

And the final two journeys are underway… a group headed to our satellite campus in Spain and a group headed to Fiji. Nexus is an amazing part of a Cape Henry education!
