In the wake of the resignation of another Church of England Bishop, is it possible to ask (and how?) at diocesan & general synods, whether there are other matters (even with low level detail) that it wd be helpful for us to learn about before they appear as exposés on Channel 4?

Today, Bishop Mariann Edgar Budde boldly called out Donald Trump for his hatred and bigotry at the National Cathedral Prayer Service. Now, the GOP is attacking her for speaking truth to power. RETWEET if you stand with Bishop Budde against Trump!

A wonderful first carol Service for our teen choir (and friends) weaving Isaiah with Coldplay, the Annunciation with Leonard Cohen and some lovely arrangements of more traditional carols. Thanks to our MD @benvonbergclark

This is good. I’ve always thought that Truro and @NclDiocese have a shared understanding of what it is to be geographically dispersed from the Centre (and the strengths it brings) ❤️

@kayaburgess People who think bishops have lost their right to sit in the House of Lords might like to sign this petition: https://t.co/TTHTLhp2pi

The Archbishops of Canterbury and York, and the Bishops of London, Durham and Winchester, together with 21 other diocesan bishops, have an automatic right to sit in the House of Lords.

If you believe @justinwelby should now slip right into the background, and be silent, no public appearances, no social gatherings of the privileged, no farewell gatherings... then please like and retweet. @Rgt71Robert @JayneOzanne

Don’t let anyone tell you for a moment that the Church of England listens to survivors of abuse and puts their interests first. It simply isn’t true, as Jane indicates here.
I'm struggling with one of the worst survivor engagement experiences. We're being ignored & shut down. This brings a tough ethical dilemma. If we resign, we risk the project being unfit for purpose. Stay & fight to be taken seriously? Or go & 100s of survivors may lose out 🤔😞

Let us not forget that while today Smyth victims are beginning to see some level of acknowledgement for what they endured, the victims of other abusers within the Church of England remain in limbo. When the Independent Safeguarding Board was wound up by the Archbishop's Council

I think this is a really important thing to listen to. It takes some courage for a CofE bishop to respond to a 'wrist-slapping' from the central church only to dig in and persist.

It feels to me worth mentioning that in all the long years that LGBT Anglicans have patiently waited and worked and prayed for our lives and relationships to be affirmed by the Church, we never broke with the Canons or demanded special bishops or threatened schism.

Some thoughts about ‘alternative spiritual oversight’ and the recent commissioning. First, it is plainly heretical and schismatic. Secondly, what might the consequences be? A thread… 🧵

Please do read the full account at The Fence and share it widely - I really think this story deserves to be much better known.

A courageous, wise and gracious voice lost from Synod. @JayneOzanne thank you
I'm resigning from #Synod due to the callous disregard of the harm @churchofengland teaching causes #LGBT+ people, particularly young LGBT+ people in conservative churches. The bishops' 'unity at any cost' agenda is highly abusive, as is being told to 'love & accept' our abusers

If you want to see Michelle Mone kicked out of the House of Lords and arrested until she pays the £232,000,000 she owes give this a RT. If you want Rishi Sunak's involvement in the £14,900,000,000 PPE Fraud he covered up investigated, LIKE.
