Jeff Kent falls off the Hall of Fame ballot?
Kent might be the greatest offensive 2nd baseman of all time, and is certainly top 3. He won an MVP. He delivered in the clutch. He hit in the postseason.
But he wasn’t nice. So he’s on the outside looking in.
Stop yourselves.

I usually give some wiggle room for voters, but they missed on that one. The Modern Era Committee will make up for that one, like with McGriff.

The HOF seems to be toddling towards irrelevance. Scott Rolen? He was a nice player, but one of the greatest ever? Meanwhile, Barry Bonds, who is among the greatest ever is out, but of course Big Papi, a mere DH, who also dabbled in PED's is in. It's a joke.

I remember Jeff Kent with Mets. He was a good player, with a bad rep. That shouldn’t decide if he’s a HOF player, but guess you need to be in good graces with sports writers.
