Alarmingly, Dr. Roy goes on to recommend that MAiD not only be provided to mature minors, but to infants under the age of one "with severe deformations and grave and severe syndromes." To be clear: People with disabilities have a right to life on an equal basis with others.

Before I was born my mom was told I wouldn't walk, talk, eat or function on my own. They tried to pressure her to terminate her pregnancy based on their ideas of what a valuable life looks like. She didn't listen. Doctors are ableist and *often wrong*. Disabled lives have value!

This is a *wild* suggestion to make especially from someone from the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Quebec to make. We can't just decide that disabled infants should be put down. Doctors aren't omniscient & this is eugenics. Dr. Roy is suggesting the right to murder infants.

Spencer Hawkswell asks a good question: "The reality is that not 100% of patients receive palliative care, right. So I think it goes back to understanding what does "adequate" access to palliative care look like?" The question is similar to this one: https://t.co/qUIOMIoO2E
Query: What's the "acceptable" # of persons with disabilities, not at the end of life, whose suffering could be alleviated with proper support, that is ok to be approved for/provided medical assistance in dying (MAiD). Hint: If you chose a number other than 0, you are incorrect.

1 / 4 One in five Ontarians has a disability & COVID19 hits them especially hard. 59% of UK COVID19 deaths occurred in people with disabilities (17% of their pop). We detail what Ontario should do to reach everyone who wants a vaccine. #COVID19ON

"This is going to be a complete recipe for disaster." @KristaCarrNB was interviewed on @BBCWorld about how Canada's lack of disability supports and institutionalized ableism make #BillC7 a direct threat to the wellbeing of people with disabilities.

"When he talks about caring, compassion, and taking care of Canadians why do they fail to listen to the voices of people with disabilities and account for their compassionate care in living while he rushes to this final decision in their death?" @MatthewGreenNDP on #BillC7.

I’m the ONLY #Sask senator to vote NO to Trudeau’s #AssistedSuicide for #MentalIllness Bill #C7. My role in #SenCA is to represent SK. What I heard from hundreds, was that Sask people don’t want expanded assisted suicide & DEFINITELY do not want mental illness included! #skpoli

To my #SenCA colleagues: Before you vote on Bill #C7 #AssistedSuicide for #MentalIllness, please be 100% certain what you're voting for. Govt amendment makes it crystal clear that the 2 year period & expert panel is NOT to determine WHETHER to allow it, only HOW to do it.

It's hard to put aside the vote in the HoC on C-7. Hard to understand how Canada could ignore the UN, PwD, disability orgs, doctors, their voices, their warnings. When the next PwD dies unnecessarily, remember this Canada, promises to do better won't fix it, you can't fix dead
