Is there anyone in the
@QUBelfast
law and politics department who believes in the Union between Great Britain and Northern Ireland and who is prepared to accept the UK vote to leave the EU and not just push the IrishGov and EU view on the Protocol ?

After some reflection, here's my analysis
@UKandEU
of 'The way forward' the UK Gov seeks for the NI/IRL
#Protocol
, inc.
* Its most important 'ask'⏸️
* What it means for business❔
* & for NI stability😬
* What hopes it raises😶🌫️
* What the upshot is⏪

Unfortunately those in academia who do hold unionist views are a lot more reluctant to be vocal. You’d never get a unionist Colin Harvey.
Somehow nationalists and mainstream culture have tarred expressing unionist views as bigoted. Which has only convinced me more to speak up.

In that
@hayward_katy
says UK request to freeze legal proceeding is "pretty hopeless (given the news that the EU is taking the next step in proceedings against the UK..." yet they have frozen it. So it's rubbish analysis & more Remainery than the EU!

The article has a lot of big words, ifs and buts, but in that usual EU speak no suggested solution. Basically it’s several pages of baloney.

The EU was always clear that the price of Brexit was NI (for a start). Good Will was never on the table. There is still a long road to travel

What importance would an academic or professional lecturer have in this question? The population north and south in the island know the disaster of sectarian politics and the blue shirts - get real - Vauxhall’s Charlie Chaplin would have made a better MP than urself!

You are right we should endeavor to keep all our friends and neighbors. Better to stick together after the blight of the pandemic. In fact we should have worked together more.
