Leo Varadkar: “Despite what other people may say, I am actually somebody who believes in free speech — but there have to be limitations and standards."
The ‘but’, as always, is the giveaway word that distinguishes between those who believe in free speech, and those who believe…

Look at the atrocious scandals that the Irish Gov. would have buried if not for social media.
There was a time in Ireland when newspapers & RTE were the only source of information. Look back & see the scandals they got away with because of Gov controls.
Now they want it back.

So likes of privately-educated
@LeoVaradkar
& Tanya Cohen (who?) get to decide if something I say “offends, insults, demeans, disrespects or violates basic human rights”. No thanks. I’d trust Putin more as a judge of acceptable speech than Leo NGO Varadkar or some quango creep
@Casey5122dark
Do you think there should be absolute freedom to say or publish whatever one likes? Even if it's potentially harmful to individuals, groups, or society as a whole??
Does truth matter?
@Casey5122dark
Imagine he said 'despite what other people may say, I am actually somebody who believes in women's rights to work and vote — but there have to be limitations and standards." Either you believe in immutable rights or you don't, the caveats give away your true feelings.
@Casey5122dark
Also - Leo Varadkar’s belief is neither here nor there - freedom of speech is protected by national, international and natural law. Free speech with “limitations” is oxymoronic.
@Casey5122dark
It's as clear as mud but (sorry) the proof of the pudding will be in the eating 👀😱😜. Are we ALL(that's means you also Varadker & Tanya) looking forward to your slice of the pudding. It could turn out to be posonious. It's the law of unintended consequences. Free Enoch Burke😠
@Casey5122dark
Free speech for him, control for the rest of us. It's beyond me why people want to be politicians in the first place unless it's a need to control others.
