Mr O'Gorman said 'Ireland also has a "moral and legal obligation" to house asylum seekers which requires the Government to "act quickly".'
Does Ireland also have a moral and legal obligation to house its own citizens?
If so, who gets priority?
@Casey5122dark
Its a matter of doing both, not who gets priority. Influence of developers who want a demand led market is what is stopping state housing its citizens.

EU law supercedes national law and the politicians long ago decided they will just do as they are told.
We, as Irish people, will continue the long standing fight of never accepting an immoral act.
There will always be traitors to their own, but we shall not be them
@Casey5122dark
We have no moral obligation to house or allow in any of the bogus asylum seekers that come to our shores.Gvts own estimates suggest 95% are bogus. No removal when thy fail. It’s an Irish farce, like draining the Shannon or exterminating bovine TB.
@Casey5122dark
We also have a moral and legal obligation to ensure those most in need of international protection get it first, and the immigration system has the appropriate resources to help people who need help most.
It is immoral to have open border policy which facilitates everyone 🤷♂️
@Casey5122dark
What’s amazing is the totalitarian tunnel vision that has seized both politicians and populace: on pain of ostracism, you can’t think or say that Irish people should be preferred to any other people, or that there is a limit to the largess to be bestowed on specified others.
@Casey5122dark
The Government needs to get itself off the moral and legal obligation to refugees/migrants roundabout on which the Government, and nobody else, has impaled itself

The commandeering of conservatives words - moral, family, compassion - has significantly aided the liberal-left in establishing its power.
@Casey5122dark
The "moral and legal obligation" reason used by the G'ment is simply a smokescreen to hide the political reality ie.Ireland is following the "agreed"? policy as set out by the EU/NATO.In plain language,we are "following orders". The EU showing its true colours. Its "real politik"
@Casey5122dark
11,397 homeless in the depraved Republic of Ireland are not accommodated becsuse there clearly is no realisation thay the Government had any moral or legal obligation in regard to them.
@Casey5122dark
There is neither a Moral or legal obligation to accept or even house Asylum seekers , the EU directive slightly different re 🇺🇦 refugees but even that has so many holes in it, I'm reminded of Swiss cheese . Government has however obligations regarding its own citizens.
@Casey5122dark
If thousands of Nigerians, Afghans and Somalis are given asylum every year where will they live? What work are they equipped to do in a modern hi-tech economy? There are literally tens of millions who qualify for asylum so where does the obligation end (if ever?) This is a mess.
