Update on firearms discharge at Billingsley Elementary School. Relative of student charged in connection with April 10 case:

Earlier this morning, a handgun was recovered from a student at Westlake HS following an unrelated incident involving cannabis possession. The student is in custody, and no one was injured. The gun was in a book bag and was not displayed. More details to follow when available.

Update on discharge of firearm incident at Billingsley Elementary School: The CSCSO has completed its investigation and has turned the case over to the Charles County State’s Attorney for review.

Patrol officers apprehended four juveniles between 13-17 years old in connection with an assault and robbery in which the victim’s tennis shoes were stolen. The victim suffered injuries including a broken nose.

This morning, a loaded gun was discharged by a student, age 9, inside a classroom at Billingsley Elementary. The gun was in their book bag. No one was injured and the gun was recovered by a school resource officer who was near the classroom.
