Okay, well that's something at least. See you all out at the consultations. 🫡.
This item got improved via a motion by Bradford. Instead of having a concept of a plan to consult a year from now, staff is directed to consult next year and have final recommendations back at Q4. Big improvement at least.

Or someone could run an inspiring campaign that isn't about defending the status quo, since that just leads people to feel like there is no point in voting. Low turnout is partly on voters, but candidates putting forward the most mediocre, defensive campaigns aren't helping.
I hope that @BonnieCrombie and @MaritStiles are taking notes on what can happen when more progressive candidates cooperate to avoid splitting the vote, and to defeat a right wing opponent.

Step 1 complete. Thank you neighbours (and hard-working door-knockers from everywhere).😌.
As a cyclist and a renter, I'm voting strategically. And then, regardless of outcome, I will be advocating for more housing options for DVW. I don't think the current development system is consistent with a human rights-based approach to housing, but it's the one that we have.

This is the only City-involved affordable housing opportunity that I've seen in the ward in over a decade. I would love to see more, but high-rises get a lot of pushback. Local councillors have tremendous power to prioritize or delay housing.
