to qualify for student loan forgiveness. I can't remember the failure rate but overwhelmingly something like 95% of applicants were rejected. Trump admin wasn't trying to help anyone. They didn't believe in the program.

I can. I was in the same situation. Mine were canceled about 4 weeks ago, after just over 30 years too. I was so shocked and grateful. I always thought I'd just die with them. Public service law all but 2 years.
CONGRATS to them both. I know what a huge relief it is.
