Permanent ban for reversed trades?. Will users have to pick between a CSFloat perma ban and getting their scammed skins back?.
@csfloatcom
CSFloat

CSFloat is back up for buying and selling!. As a seller, you will need to wait until the Trade Protection for a Steam trade offer has expired before you can get credited for the sale. Reversing a trade offer as a buyer or seller will lead to a permanent ban on CSFloat. Thanks.

Valve literally creates 25c sticker capsules, which make millions of 1c items, but now you're limited to only taking 1000 out of active supply each week into storage. There is no reason why these trade protected items couldn't be taken out of storage units on trade reversal.

The BIGGEST mistake of the Trade Protection Update is the inability to move items into Storage Units. Every user is limited to buying 1000 items off third party marketplaces per 7 days. This is a stupid, ignorant oversight, storage units still lock items to the account.

13. Tradeups. Buying items from third party marketplaces for tradeups will now require much more planning. It may have previously made some sense to trade up items once the 7 day tradehold was over, just in case prices change, now you MUST wait until the tradehold is over.

12. Gambling Sites. As @SpectralOwl has reminded me, no one wants to wait 7 days to gamble, gambling is almost always an impulse decision and this will essentially end users depositing skins to gamble with. However, users may wish to withdraw skins still.

There's a lot more I could speak on, such as the impact on case openings and how the steam market will benefit from this, but this post is already long enough. One other prediction I have: this will be the end of skin gambling sites. Nobody wants to wait a week to gamble. (5/5).

11. New CS2 Players/Scam Safety. There has always been an underlying fear for new CS2 players that they might get scammed. It hasn't even been safe to use google without an adblocker for years as sponsored links appear correct but lead you to a phishing site. No more.

10. Instant Sale Sites. Very similar fate to cash traders. Sellers will be more likely to seek as much value as possible from the sale of their items as 1 or 2 additional days to find a buyer isn't a dramatic increase in time on top of the 7 day escrow period.

9. Trade Protection Users. Those who are scammed FINALLY have a way to be unscammed after all these years of irreversible scam trades. If third party marketplaces get caught in the trade reversal period they may choose to ban users if they suspect misuse. 30 day account lockdown.

8. Trading Sites. To the best of my understanding these sites should remain unchanged. They require a margin to do a trade, users trade first and if reverted, ALL trades must be reverted. Technically users could make trades, and revert in 6 days if the skins lose value.

7. Rust & TF2 Markets. These economies offer a major advantage over CS2 items. These items, especially TF2 keys are the best and easiest way to convert FIAT to SCM instantly. This will be the best way to instantly buy consumable goods AND use them, e.g. cases, capsules, stickers

6. Steam Community Market. Expect SCM value to rise as this is the only marketplace that will allow instant buying of cases, capsules, stickers, etc. for use without waiting the 7 day protection time. Valve's 13% cut will print even more money than ever before from CS2 players

5. Third Party Marketplaces. TPMs will need to quickly implement an escrow system for 7 day holding value until trade protection ends. Less buying and selling demand will lower revenue, as users will not be able to quickly buy and sell to swap skins or quickly sell for cash.

4. Cash Traders. Cash Traders will likely see much less demand for their services, afaik most of their demand came from users wanting quick instant cash for illiquid and liquid items. Sellers may look to third party marketplaces more, as 8 days for cash is similar to 7 days.

3. Scammers. Scammers are dramatically affected, if a user discovers they have been scammed within 7 days, they are entirely protected. Scammers will need to fully take over accounts including authenticators OR convince those being scammed they are not being scammed for 7 days.

2. Sellers. The main effect on sellers is the tradehold:. ▶️If you just bought an item: 14 days (7 tradehold + 7 third party escrow).▶️Any items older than 7 days in your inventory: 7 day tradehold via third party escrow. No more "instant" sales of skins for FIAT or crypto

1. Buyers. Buyers are the least affected in this update, yet still dramatically affected. You can no longer impulse buy a case on a third party market and unbox it. You can no longer buy stickers on a third party market and apply immediately. This will lower buying demand.
