Guza and Faren Phelps were ONLY good at big events most of the time. A lot of the complaints we have about the show now: imbalance, misogyny, not giving vets real SLs, vanity diversity (if there was any), Sonny as the moral center, etc. was with them, too. I never want them back.
@Britta319
People who want them back were not on the old ABC soap message board back in the day and never went into that "Fire Frons/Guza/Phelps" thread that was literally THOUSANDS of posts deep.
@Dylan_StJaymes
Yes, we bitched and moaned about how awful they were for 10 years. When they all got fired I had a damn parade. They weren't boring, but nah they sucked, too.
@Britta319
I understand ur point of view but new EP has not established the romantic couples they did. Liason, Scrubs, Lante, Jasam, Skate, Spixie, Julu Nem & many more. That's why I would take them over this EP and big events as u stated. And I agree many wrongs but again better then now
@Charles43085118
To me they sucked in different ways. There are plenty of couples, characters, and families they destroyed with recons, OOC behavior, and propping to make ships and characters work. I think because like you said "it's boring" that nostalgia lens are put on them, but it was bad.
@Britta319
Yes yes yes! The only good thing about Guza was the big events & he wasn't afraid to send the Grim Reaper through PC (though unfortunately the wrong ones died, like Georgie, Alan, Emily). But i HATED his show centering around the fab 4, his Liz hate & most of all, his misogyny.
@Britta319
This new EP just keeps adding and adding so there is no real story development on any story because there is no time. No romance has really developed this year at all. Sonny and his family get majority of screen time. No good stories. No mystery. No romance. Nothing
@realtealfeel
All of them were at fault in my opinion. They all had faults that contributed to me and others having issues with the show. They weren't boring. They jump started some my favorite ships, but so have Chris/Dan and they're still terrible.
