Dead ankles during performance will : - increase GCT - decrease performance - increase soft tissue stress Fix by teaching a more active ankle Every jump, hop, skip, sprint, and bound quite literally start and end with the foot and ankle complex Worthy time investment!

@BrendanThompsn I would argue there is a time and a place to cue full foot contact with ground or a more stiff elastic response to the ground

@tnelsoncook19 I agree. Though, a dead ankle and a full foot intentional contact are very different, in my opinion. Any specific examples of when you’d prefer a toe down position during sports performance?

@BrendanThompsn It's crazy to think initially, but it makes so much sense how weak ankles will cause weak knees/hips as well. Been investing more time into strengthening my weak links, and it's paying dividends for my knee recovery and overall leg strength!

@BrendanThompsn The foot and ankle complex is “like a trampoline” “bounce off your trampoline”

@BrendanThompsn I predict the next “thing“ in S&C is a jump rope.
